100 Useless Things about Me
| Several blogs have included this exercise. I thought I would share 100 useless things about me! (Previously written, before my tonsils were taken out!)
1. I don't like liver and onions 2. I speak some Polish and some Japanese 3. My grandfather taught me how to develop pictures 4. I can write in calligraphy 5. I don't like bad customer service; this infuriates me 6. I sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" duet in front of 3,000 "Greek" students at Iowa State 7. I have about 25GB of legal music (from my CD collection) 8. My first job was as a "dishwasher" at Pewter Pot, in Reading, Mass. I was 14 at the time 9. I like to cook and I'm good at cleaning 10. I don't like professional basketball, but watch as much college basketball as I can 11. I used to live in Schwabbing, an artsy quarter of Munich, Germany 12. I used to go to the Methodist church 13. I am a homosapien 14. I was a member of Demolay, as a teenager 15. I am a morning person 16. Die Zauberflöte is my favorite opera 17. My favorite snack is a pretzel 18. I studied for 7 years at Iowa State University. And no. I'm not a doctor 19. I don't like dogs as much as I like cats 20. I once weighed 215 lbs 21. I learn to fold paper (origami) at the age of 9 22. My mother went swimming in a lake the week before I was born. 23. I shut the toilet lid consistently 24. Briefs over boxers. Boxer briefs over briefs 25. I earned my own way through most of college 26. I broke my toe chasing a friend around the fraternity house 27. I once flipped my car 3 times driving from Wisconsin back to Ames 28. When I was in 2nd grade, my school burned to the ground 29. I have one sister and one step brother 30. My middle name is not "Jerome" 31. I don't lie very well 32. I have 4 pairs of dress shoes and 4 belts 33. I filled all but one page in my last passport 34. I am romantic but I'm also a flirt 35. I earned my MBA from Xavier University 36. My grandfather helped design the modern microwave oven 37. I am a huge Mac fanatic. My first Mac was a Performa 400 38. I grew up with a small dog named Bella Abzug and a Siamese cat named Martha Mitchell 39. I owned a Jeep Wrangler. I got into a car accident with it only two days after I bought it. My friend Deb was hurt 40. I suck at basketball and was thus nicknamed "hoops" in high school 41. I don't cry at weddings 42. When in Europe, I prefer traveling in Germany and Poland 43. I once "saw" Billy Joel in concert but forgot my glasses and couldn't "see" a thing 44. My grandparents used to live in Arizona 45. I breathe through my mouth during the night 46. When I was a kid, my parents were convinced that I was "retarded" 47. I don't like to bake 48. My waist size is 33, just like my age 49. I used to have a piercing but you couldn't see it 50. I once was in a rodeo and I won the event (Horse camp) 51. For the last 15 years, I have been in contact with a German host family who live near Peine, Germany 52. I prefer tea over coffee (especially watery American coffee) 53. I have five different types of hair on my body (all humans do) 54. During my childhood, I spent several summers on a dairy farm in Wisconsin 55. I like foods that are sour 56. My nickname is college was "Mev"--the letters on my fraternity paddle 57. I've spoken French for 20 years 58. I go to the gym 3-5 times per week 59. I speak German with no accent 60. I drive a Jeep Cherokee, that's maroon 61. Being around blood makes me sick 62. I once lost my glasses fo 4 months, then recovered at a lost & found (in Iowa) 63. My favorite colors are blue and green 64. My first bike was a Huffy with a banana seat. My cousin left it outside and it was stolen 65. My heritage is Dutch/German 66. I've only had one surgery: a tonsillectomy on 9/24/04 67. I like to skinny-dip 68. I played soccer as a kid but I embarrassed my parents as I was not very talented 69. I played on a co-ed softball team a couple years back 70. I had my first date with a guy in 1996, at the age of 26 71. My favorite author is Michael Crichton 72. My veins on my chest bulge a lot when I do arm curls 73. I was an aspiring artist at one point. I studied architecture 74. I collected stamps for 5 years until my stamp album was stolen, in college 75. I can water-ski 76. I am a first tenor; debated getting a minor in Music 77. I find bats intriguing 78. I'm allergic to dust and cats 79. My strangest Halloween costume a "suitcase" 80. I am single 81. I'm re-designing, re-painting, etc. my house 82. I prefer Mexican or Asian food 83. I won a croquet contest when I was like 7 84. I have a "Canada" fetish 85. I am blood type O+ 86. I have size 10.5 shoes 87. I have an iPod and I'm a big audiophile 88. I walk in my sleep 89. I don't get upset easily; I am extremely patient 90. I speak some Dutch 91. As a kid, I loved dinosaurs and space vehicles 92. GSM technology is really neat. I had my first GSM phone when I lived in Caracas 93. I like classical music and opera a lot 94. My family lives in Boston, mostly 95. I prefer Chilean Red wine over most wines I've tasted 96. I have been in 5 musicals 97. I had a cat named "Pilsner," but my ex gave it to his sister 98. I'm allergic to certain types of penicillin 99. I used to be a real nerd 100. I would eat baluut, but likely only once |
