12 of 12: April 2010

On the 12th day of each month you take 12 photos showing how you spent your day, post them on your blog, and then link the post back to Chad. 11:30 am. On the way to run errands I realize, "oops. It's the 12th of the month!" I go about my business, exchanging a defective printer at Staples, etc. By the end of my shopping spree, my GTI would hold: matboard, frames, tape, mailers, postits, Swiffer Wet sheets, potting soil, a pot, rug cleaner, lock nuts, screws–and more! All in the hatchback! 1:17pm. I'm at Home Depot, waiting for 10+ minutes for the idiot cashiers to try to figure out how to ring up four 3/4" screws which cost 10 cents each. I contemplate why I didn't just pocket the 4 screws. 1:36 pm. I contemplate the need for a makeover in my home. Hobby Lobby has some amazing possibilities. 2:31 pm. Amélie and I arrive at Mt. Echo park, overlooking Cincinnati. We enjoy a nice picnic under a tree until a van comes up, spewing rap. An African American man hops out, leaving the car windows open, to ensure noise polution. Out of nowhere, a very promiscuous tattooed woman appears and they walk around the park; he's likely a "John." 2:40 pm. I put on my headphones, as I dislike rap. Soon, a pickup truck arrives with two middle aged people with limited teeth. They stare at me. I ignore them. At one point the robust woman yells something. I glare over to them with my eyes saying, "Could you find another part of the park?" A bit jarred, I walk around taking pictures. 3:05 pm. I drive back home. 3:40. I take Amélie on a "bonus" walk to Union Station terminal, which is pretty with the blooming cherry blossoms. 6:30 pm. I check out the new iPad at the Kenwood Mall. It's cool! And YES, I'm a geek. I know this. 7:03 pm. I decide to make a quick stop at Trader Joe's. I ponder the purchase of flowers, but decide against it. They always seem to die on me. 9:45 pm. After dinner, Chris, Jonathan, Javier and I walk around downtown. 10:15 pm. We end at the Below Zero Lounge. 11:17 pm. I snag a quick picture of the city on the way home.
